Our conceptual development exit project charged us with designing a structure inspired by an instrumental piece of music. The song Gilded Age by Lotus evoked a dynamic, somewhat chaotic, experience with progression of energy. That experience was the cornerstone for the structure's final design. An angular design was developed with a sense of undefined yet contained chaos. As visitors pass through the structure, they experience the same kind of progression evoked in the song, with an ever changing pathway. Accompanied by a steady build in energy, the structure engages visitors to create dynamic experience with each step. The final model was constructed from plexiglass, packing tape, and spray painted cardboard.
